Dana White gave President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, a behind-the-scenes look at the UFC 250 Freedom event that took place on June 14 on the White House lawn.
The 19-year-old <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3M04O-0SyE">posted</a> a video on YouTube on Tuesday that gave viewers a peek at a day spent one-on-one with White. Her vlog started with her morning at Starbucks and Sephora, but then she headed to Thesis Gym and White started their day with a workout.
“We’ve have a full day. It’s gonna be a very long day,” White said.
The day before the fight, Trump joined the UFC president on the White House lawn to watch the Nitro Circus “Wheel Team Six” motorcyclists perform. The show included a daring backflip from Travis Pastrana.
White then proceeded to give Trump an exclusive tour of the extravagant stadium, built specifically for the White House event, where they encountered a number of those who would be involved in the production, such as Joe Rogan and Nina Drama.
While getting ready for the weigh-in ceremony, Trump and White made their way through the crowd of supporters while taking pictures and signing autographs with fans. They were onstage for the weigh-in ceremony at the beginning of the event with Steve Garcia and Diego Lopes as the sea of patriotic supporters cheered in response.
Trump ended her vlog with a montage of the UFC fighters and fireworks show.
The UFC fight at the White House was just one small part of the massive celebration for America&#8217;s 250th anniversary, and it also happened to fall on President Donald Trump&#8217;s 80th birthday.
Weather concerns earlier in the evening had prompted the UFC to initiate a one-hour delay for the first fight — and participants were warned that once things got underway, any lightning strikes near the White House would trigger an additional automatic 30-minute delay.

A 15-year-old Oklahoma girl is in intensive care after downing Benadryl for a viral, re-emerging TikTok challenge.
Leah Presson participated in the “Benadryl Challenge,” which encourages teens to film themselves while downing toxic amounts of the allergy medication to <a href="https://drugfree.org/article/what-is-the-benadryl-challenge/">induce</a> hallucinations and delirium. After drinking the Benadryl, Presson experienced seizures and cardiac arrest, and after multiple tests at the hospital, she was found to have “no brain activity.” She remains in an intensive care unit at Integris Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
“I tell her to keep fighting and stay strong. You got this. You’re a fighter,” Leah’s father, Richard Presson, <a href="https://kfor.com/news/enid-father-warns-parents-of-social-media-challenge-after-daughter-is-hospitalized/">told</a> KFOR. 
Richard Presson initially believed his daughter’s seizures were from her history of asthma, but her symptoms were very similar to those caused by the “Benadryl Challenge.” He said she had participated in the dangerous trend before. 
“I don’t even want to think about a funeral because I feel like there’s still hope and everybody’s like, giving up too soon,” her father said. “I believe in miracles, that she’s definitely a miracle baby.”
Benadryl is an antihistamine used to temporarily relieve cold or allergy symptoms, such as runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, hives, skin rash, and itching. An overdose of this medicine can be fatal or cause severe side effects. Diphenhydramine is the generic name for the antihistamine sold under the brand name Benadryl, meaning the two terms refer to the same medication.
Presson is not the first girl from Oklahoma to end the challenge with a devastating consequence. Earlier this year, 11-year-old Molly Miller died from a diphenhydramine-related overdose that was linked to the &#8220;Benadryl Challenge.&#8221; Three Connecticut children also died from Benadryl overdoses in recent months, The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-deadly-online-trend-parents-thought-was-gone-is-back?author=Jacob+Wheeler&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=19&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=The+Deadly+Online+Trend+Parents+Thought+Was+Gone+Is+Back">reported</a>. 
After the deaths of the three Connecticut children, the Connecticut Office of the Child Advocate <a href="https://portal.ct.gov/oca/-/media/oca/oca-recent-publications/oca-statement-diphenhydramine-and-safe-storage-2026-06-10.pdf?rev=1feb34995f34436cbb121d417264c506">warned</a> parents that the medication “is potentially dangerous to children of all ages.”
&#8220;We strongly encourage parents to store all medications safely, to ensure they are not easily accessible to children,&#8221; the office added. &#8220;We also want parents to know that resources are available if their children are experiencing mental health needs.&#8221;
The FDA <a href="https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-warns-about-serious-problems-high-doses-allergy-medicine-diphenhydramine-benadryl">issued</a> a statement during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, when the challenge first emerged, warning the public about the dangers of overdosing on Benadryl and informing parents and health care professionals. 
“We are aware of news reports of teenagers ending up in emergency rooms or dying after participating in the ‘Benadryl Challenge’ encouraged in videos posted on the social media application TikTok,” the FDA said.
Now, searches for “Benadryl Challenge” or “Benadryl” on TikTok lead to a drug and alcohol warning. 
“I just want everybody to be aware of where they can educate their kids, but these challenges are just silly, and they need to be educated so it doesn’t happen again,” Presson’s father said.

A federal magistrate rescinded an order on Monday, June 15, which had allowed the 16-year-old charged with the death and sexual assault of his stepsister, to remain in the custody of family members while awaiting trial.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Edwin Torres issued a 14-page order in response to the prosecutor’s request to detain Timothy Hudson, who is charged with the rape and murder of his stepsister, Anna Kepner. Torres agreed that detention was the correct call — not based on Hudson being a flight risk, but rather his “dangerousness.”
“The strength of the evidence here points strongly in favor of detention,” Torres said in the court documents from June 10. “Focusing just on the sexual assault charge, the Government’s case for a forcible rape is beyond clear and convincing.” 
“Indeed it suggests a level of psychopathy and lack of remorse that by itself raises a serious concern that Defendant can snap at any time, despite the well-meaning and serious efforts of his caretakers to make sure that does not happen,” Torres said. 
Hudson was reportedly  “<a href="https://nypost.com/2025/11/20/us-news/anna-kepners-stepbrother-was-obsessed-with-slain-cheerleader-and-once-committed-creepy-act-while-she-was-sleeping-report/">obsessed</a>” with Kepner despite the two being part of the same blended family.
“She was scared of him because he always carried around a big knife,” Kepner’s ex-boyfriend’s father, Steven Westin, said. His son, Joshua, dated Kepner for about two years.
 “He’s like infatuated, attracted to her like crazy. He always wanted to date her,” Westin said.
On November 7, 2025 Kepner’s body was found wrapped in a blanket and stuffed under the bed when a cleaning attendant entered a Carnival cruise ship room that she shared with Hudson and her half-brother. Her stepmother and biological father were staying in the room across the hall. 
Torres obtained a transcript from a February hearing, which revealed the medical examiner discovered bleeding under Kepner’s skin around the side and back of her neck. This is evidence of strangulation, and her cause of death was ruled as mechanical asphyxiation. The transcript also said DNA was found inside her body which was a match to Hudson.
The deadline for entering any plea agreement is August 28, according to the court records. If found guilty, Hudson could be sentenced to life in prison.
“The situation is deeply painful and complex for the entire family,” Christopher Kepner, the victim’s father, said in a previous statement. He said the family has “trust in the justice system to pursue the truth with care and integrity.”
Kepner was a Titusville high school senior who had aspirations to join the U.S. Navy and to eventually become a K-9 police officer, <a href="https://www.northbrevardfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Anna-Marie-Kepner?obId=46354353">according</a> to her online obituary. Her family described her as joyful and compassionate with a “radiant smile and endless energy.”

The Swedish parliament passed a law on Monday that has the power to rescind immigrants’ residency permits based on their behavior.
The country&#8217;s parliamentarians passed the “good behavior” law, which covers pending and current Swedish residents. The law targets immigrants who are affiliated with extremist groups, have unpaid debts, or are doing undeclared work.
“Anyone ‌who doesn’t make the effort to do the right thing shouldn’t be able to count on staying,” Johan Forssell, Sweden’s minister for migration, said when he proposed the “good behavior” bill in March. 
The law comes before the parliamentary election in September and is part of the Right-wing government’s crackdown on crime and high levels of immigration, issues that won the Right-wing party the 2022 election. 
Human rights advocacy groups criticized the law, calling it arbitrary because residency permits can be revoked for non-criminal behavior. 
“The good behavior law leaves people in uncertainty about what actions or expressions can be used against ​them,” said the Civil Rights Defenders, a Stockholm-based group.
Under the new law, the residency permits are reviewed by the Migration Agency, and their decisions can be appealed by the migration court.
The “good behavior” law raises controversy alongside the country’s “<a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/aug/11/sweden-snitch-law-immigration-plan-prompts-alarm-across-society">snitch law</a>,” which was also passed on Monday. The so-called snitch law requires that workers of certain government agencies report any illegal immigrants they encounter to the police.
In recent years, Sweden has greatly tightened its <a href="https://www.government.se/government-policy/the-governments-priorities/migration-and-integration/about-the-governments-prioritisation-migration-and-integration/">immigration policy</a>, shifting from being very welcoming of foreigners, including Afghans and Syrians, to now only accepting highly skilled workers. In 2016, an all-time high of over 160,000 immigrants entered Sweden, and the <a href="https://www.gisreportsonline.com/r/sweden-immigrants-crisis/">number</a> was projected to stay at 100,000 immigrants entering the country annually. As of spring 2026, Sweden’s population is around 10.7 million people and the number of foreign-born inhabitants is 20% of the population. 
The country&#8217;s crackdown on immigration stands in stark contrast to most of its European neighbors, which have opened their borders to millions of refugees and asylum seekers in recent years. The immigration debate has come to a boiling point in Britain and Ireland after crimes committed by migrants have gained worldwide attention.
Sweden is also facing a massive increase in violent crime. According to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention, there were reportedly 769 rapes in 1975 and 10,167 rapes in 2024, which is an increase of 1,222%. In recent years, there have been <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67342368">rising numbers</a> of shootings, bombings, and gang violence in Sweden’s suburbs, which have negatively affected the country’s peaceful reputation.

Bonnie Tyler, a Welsh singer and songwriter, woke up from her medically induced coma on June 15, but she “remains very unwell” <a href="https://bonnietyler.com/news/update-on-bonnies-recovery/">according</a> to her official website, and she is in intensive care in Faro, Portugal. 
“Although her condition is improving it is a slow process,” her website said. “Her doctors remain confident that she will make a good recovery but it is going to take time.”
The 75-year-old singer was rushed to the hospital on April 30, The U.S. Sun <a href="https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/16328120/bonnie-tyler-coma-hospital-portugal/">reported</a>. Tyler was then put into a medically induced coma last month after complications from emergency intestinal surgery for severe tears in her bowels. She went into cardiac arrest when doctors tried to bring her out of the coma a few weeks ago. 
“We would like to thank everyone for the huge outpouring of love and support from all over the world that we have received for Bonnie and want to tell you that she is aware of, and very grateful for, your good wishes,” her team said.
Tyler is known for her number one power ballad, “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” which was released in 1983 and her other popular hit, “Holding Out for a Hero.” Tyler’s 2026 Jubilee tour kicked off on May 22, but her upcoming tour dates have either been canceled or postponed until next year as she recovers.

Nara Organics baby formula was recalled from stores nationwide and online on Saturday after a multi-state outbreak of infant botulism.
Three infants ranging from 2-5 months old from California, Washington, and Pennsylvania became ill with botulism after they were fed Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Infant Formula. The infants were hospitalized and treated with BabyBIG (Botulism Immune Globulin Intravenous), which is an IV medication created from the blood plasma of people immunized against botulism. There have been no deaths, the CDC <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2026/infant-botulism-outbreak-linked-to-powdered-infant-formula-june-2026.html">reported</a>.
Infant botulism occurs in babies under 1 year old who swallow Clostridium botulinum spores, which settle in the immature intestinal tract and produce botulinum neurotoxins. This leads to symptoms such as constipation, poor feeding, ptosis (drooping eyelid), sluggish pupils, low muscle tone, difficulty sucking and swallowing, weak or altered cry, generalized weakness, respiratory difficulty, and possibly respiratory arrest, <a href="https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/nara-organics-recalls-all-lots-nara-infant-formula-because-possible-health-risk">according</a> to the FDA. Even though infant botulism is rare, it can be fatal.
“We believe in taking the strongest possible measure to protect the safety of babies. That’s why we quickly decided, in an abundance of caution, to voluntarily recall all Nara Organics infant formula currently available in the U.S.,” Nara Organics <a href="https://nara.com/pages/nara-organics-recall-information?srsltid=AfmBOoq0YgeNSd_YJ2MVk5K-oarj3G9Pxve9n4Wcs8Zped0KhzXsuAgj">said</a>. 
The CDC advised all parents who have any Nara Organics products to either return them or throw them away. It also told parents to take a picture of the lot code and use-by date, consider keeping any opened formula for state health department testing, and seek immediate medical attention if their baby develops symptoms. If no symptoms emerge after a month, parents can throw the leftover formula away.
As of June 13, no Nara Organics formula has tested positive for C. botulinum. 
This case <a href="https://www.fda.gov/food/outbreaks-foodborne-illness/outbreak-investigation-infant-botulism-infant-formula-november-2025?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery">follows</a> ByHeart’s Whole Nutrition Infant Formula recall in November 2025, when a botulism outbreak affected 48 babies from 17 different states after being fed the formula. As of June 10, 2026, last year&#8217;s recall is still in place, <a href="https://byheart.com/pages/important-recall-information?srsltid=AfmBOoq9kcbjfHOFy3cLa2AF9SkHROtLOc3A-zE4G6guFCOO46EyO589">according</a> to ByHeart&#8217;s recall information page.

An 18-year-old Wisconsin man was sentenced to life in prison last week after the brutal killing of a 5-year-old Milwaukee boy. 
Erik Mendoza was 15 years old when he killed Prince McCree, who was reported missing by his mother in October 2023 after the boy went downstairs to play video games. Mendoza’s co-conspirator, David Pietura, also lived in the home with McCree and his mother.
After McCree was reported missing, police found the boy’s body in a dumpster about a mile away from home. According to court documents, Mendoza confessed to choking McCree before repeatedly hitting him with a golf club. 
The case changed Wisconsin law and led to the <a href="https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/WIGOV/bulletins/3952c1c">Prince Act</a>, which expands the Amber Alerts system for missing children who do not meet the criteria. <a href="https://amberalert.widoj.gov/amber/about">According</a> to Amber Alert Wisconsin, the child must be 17 years of age or younger, in danger of serious bodily harm or death, and the initiating agency must have enough descriptive information about the child, the suspect and/or the suspect vehicle to believe an immediate broadcast alert will help locate the child. 
The Milwaukee Police Department requested an Amber Alert for McCree, but their request was denied because his case did not fit the criteria listed.
The Prince Act — or Senate Bill 981, now 2023 Wisconsin Act 272 — was signed by Governor Tony Evers to expand the Silver Alert to certain children. “An alert could be issued if the person is under the age of 18, their location is unknown, they do not otherwise qualify for another alert, and they are unable to return home without help because of a physical or mental condition, disability, or age.”
The act helped to &#8220;ensure authorities in future missing child cases have expanded resources to issue quicker and more robust alert notices to the public, hopefully ensuring kids are able to be quickly located and returned home safely in the future.&#8221; 
After the murder, Mendoza and Pietura disposed of the boy&#8217;s body, and surveillance of the area showed them in an alley with a white garbage bag the same day that McCree disappeared, according to court documents. 
The prosecutors jumped on the opportunity to mention that Pietura initially told investigators that he and Mendoza went for a walk, but cellphone GPS data refuted his claim. Pietura eventually led police to where they had left McCree’s body.
In 2024, Pietura pleaded guilty to first-degree intentional homicide and was sentenced to life in prison. 
Earlier this year, Mendoza pleaded guilty to “first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, and three counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety in the death of Prince McCree,” <a href="https://www.wisn.com/article/milwaukee-sentencing-erik-mendoza-killing-prince-mccree/71507757">according</a> to WISN. Mendoza will not be eligible to petition for his release for 50 years. 
During the hearing last Friday, the boy’s parents, Darron McCree and Jordan Barger, gave very emotional victim impact statements.
&#8220;What I wanna say is, I wish this guy would die and burn, no mercy,” McCree said. “I wish I could do it with my hands. When he killed my baby, he killed me.&#8221; 
“What happened to Prince shouldn’t happen to any child,” Barger said in the press release. “The current alert system failed him and failed our family, and I hope that with this new law, more families will get the attention and resources they need to bring their kids home safely.”

More than 50 kids and teens are facing criminal charges after a massive opening-day brawl at Hersheypark, a Pennsylvania amusement park, that sent terrified families scrambling for cover and forced the shutdown of at least one ride.

According to witnesses, multiple fights erupted throughout the Pennsylvania amusement park, with some families shielding their children and taking cover under tables in the food court area as dozens of teens exchanged punches.

Video circulating online appears to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/DmS-dZB8uq0">show</a> another brawl breaking out near a roller coaster, forcing staffers to temporarily shut down the Skyrush ride.
“These actions caused serious inconvenience to Hersheypark staff and patrons of the park. This caused an emergency stop to the Skyrush ride,” officers said, <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/06/10/us-news/55-kids-teens-charged-in-hersheypark-opening-day-brawl/?dicbo=v2-R9ssdP0">according</a> to the New York Post.
Police said the disturbance began around 6:50 p.m. near the Trailblazer roller coaster, where two groups were involved in a verbal altercation before the confrontation escalated into a larger melee. Police were dispatched to assist security in separating the fighting groups.
But the chaos didn&#8217;t end there.
Authorities said participants later moved to the food court area, where another fight broke out. Witnesses estimated that between 50 and 60 teens were involved. 
Some participants were escorted out of the park through a side gate, but police said they later returned to the main entrance, where another confrontation erupted around 7:30 p.m.
The investigation took around three months as police reviewed extensive video evidence gathered from witnesses, security footage, and social media posts.
Among those charged as adults were Omar Ibrahim, 19, Jerome Ross III, 18, and Quaneek Williams, 18. PennLive <a href="https://www.pennlive.com/news/2026/06/giant-brawl-forced-hersheypark-to-stop-rollercoaster-as-parents-hid-under-tables-police.html">reported</a> that Ibrahim and Ross were charged in connection with the alleged theft of a one-day admittance wristband from a minor. Williams was charged with one felony and four misdemeanors. 
No arrests have been made as of Tuesday night. Preliminary hearings for the three adult defendants are scheduled for July 7. 
Hersheypark said the individuals involved were quickly removed from the property.
“There was an altercation between a group of teenagers in Hersheypark the evening of Friday, April 3,&#8221; the park said in a statement. &#8220;Police responded to assist Park security in swiftly addressing the situation and removing those involved from the Park. As safety is our top priority, Hersheypark has a zero tolerance policy for behavior of this type. Those who do not abide by our policy will no longer be welcome on our property.”
While Hersheypark does not currently enforce a chaperone policy for minors, the park implemented a new photo verification process for same-day re-entry following the opening-day disruption. 
Under the policy, guests who leave the park and later return must have their photo verified against an image taken during their initial exit.
“This process helps ensure that admission is used only by the original ticket holder for same-day re-entry,” a park spokesperson said.

More Than 50 Youths Charged Over Massive Brawl At ‘The Sweetest Place On Earth’

A New York man was fatally shot Monday afternoon after confronting a teenager who was talking loudly on a cell phone aboard a city bus in the Bronx, police said. 
Jonathan Pettigrew, 41, was riding a Bx36 bus around 2:30 p.m. near East Tremont Avenue and White Plains Road when he confronted the teen about the volume of his phone conversation. The teen then pulled a handgun and shot Pettigrew in the abdomen, according to authorities.
First responders rushed Pettigrew to Jacobi Medical Center, where he later died.
Police said the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
An employee at the nearby Family Mexican Deli told Gothamist that surveillance video appeared to show the gunman fleeing south on White Plains Road. Authorities said the suspect was last seen wearing a white T-shirt.
“ Right now it&#8217;s just hard for me to believe what&#8217;s going on because I&#8217;m really, like, in a state of shock,” Pettigrew’s older brother, Avery Pettigrew, <a href="https://gothamist.com/news/police-seek-suspect-in-killing-of-father-of-7-on-an-mta-bus-in-the-bronx">told</a> Gothamist. 
He said his brother struggled with anxiety and was particularly sensitive to loud noise.
“ He got this anxiety where he, like me, we can&#8217;t be around a lot of noise,” Pettigrew said. “I guess the person that was on the phone was being very disrespectful and loud, and it was bothering him.”
Pettigrew worked in catering and was the father of seven children. He was likely on his way to pick up his youngest daughter from school when he was shot, two of his aunts <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/08/nyregion/bronx-bus-fatal-shooting.html">told</a> The New York Times.
 “This is his routine: He drops her off at school, he goes to work, he gets off work, he picks her up,” his aunt, Sandra Ferguson, said. “I just can’t believe this.”
“He took real good care of that little girl,” another aunt, Sabrina Vereen, said.

President Donald Trump’s attempt to restrict H-1B visas was <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2026/06/08/trump-h1b-visa-fee-blocks.html">blocked</a> by a federal judge on Monday, who said it was an unlawful tax. 
Judge Leo Sorokin of the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mad.293201/gov.uscourts.mad.293201.106.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruled</a> that Trump’s policy violated both the federal Administrative Procedure Act and the Constitution. “It encroaches upon Congress’s exclusive power to tax under the Constitution,” the court documents stated. 
Last September, Trump <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/09/restriction-on-entry-of-certain-nonimmigrant-workers/">imposed</a> a $100,000 H-1B application fee in an attempt to limit the number of foreign workers in the United States. The previous cost per application ranged from $2,000 to $5,000.
Sorokin sided with the 20 Democrat-led states that brought legal action against the various departments involved, saying it “exceeds the carefully and explicitly limited fee-setting authority delegated to the executive branch by Congress.”
The Trump administration is expected to appeal this ruling.
The H-1B program was originally <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jun/08/trump-h-1b-visa-fee-invalidated">created</a> in 1990 to allow American employers to temporarily hire skilled workers from other countries for up to six years. Tech and finance companies rely heavily on immigrants’ skills. According to Trump’s directive, between 2000 and 2019, foreign STEM workers in the United States increased from 1.2 million to almost 2.5 million, with an overall STEM employment increase of 44.5%. The Guardian reported that roughly two-thirds of H-1B jobs are computer-related.
Trump believes the program “has been deliberately exploited to replace, rather than supplement, American workers with lower-paid, lower-skilled labor.” The president argued that employers are abusing the H-1B program to “artificially suppress wages, resulting in a disadvantageous labor market for American citizens.”
“President Trump has clear legal authority to restrict entry of any class of aliens he determines is not in America’s best interests, and that is exactly what he did,” Taylor Rogers, the White House spokeswoman, <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2026/06/08/trump-h1b-visa-fee-blocks.html">told</a> CNBC after the court’s ruling.
Trump also argued that the abuse of the H-1B program makes it significantly more difficult for college graduates to obtain IT jobs because employers are hiring “foreign workers at a significant discount to American workers.”

A trailer carrying fireworks ignited a pre-Fourth of July spectacle on Saturday evening, forcing authorities to shut down a Tennessee highway.
The Chattanooga Fire Department shared a video of the flaming trailer, which showed pyrotechnic sparks flying in all directions on the northbound Interstate 75 past the Ooltewah exit. 
The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department was also on the scene, and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/tricommunityvolunteerfire">said</a>, &#8220;As a precaution, both northbound and southbound lanes of I-75 were temporarily shut down due to ongoing firework explosions and to allow fire apparatus safe access to the scene,&#8221; leaving traffic at a standstill.

 The department “received mutual aid assistance from Chattanooga Fire Department at the scene, along with fill-in coverage from Catoosa County [Georgia] and Highway 58 fire departments to help maintain emergency response coverage throughout our district.”
A spokesman for the Chattanooga Fire Department <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/video-captures-fireworks-exploding-burning-trailer-shut-interstate-75?lid=n0smsdify2wp">told</a> Fox News that northbound lanes were closed longer than the southbound lanes as crews monitored the scene and cleared the scorched trailer from the highway.
Authorities have not released any information on the cause of the fire or where the trailer was being transported. No injuries were reported. 
<a href="https://www.tn.gov/commerce/fire/permit/licensing/fireworks/applications-resources/displays.html">According</a> to Tennessee law, “Consumer” fireworks can be “used without a display permit, as long as local authorities have approved any necessary safety measures,” whereas larger “Professional” fireworks require a “Fireworks Display Permit with the State of Tennessee.”

Clayton High School administration in North Carolina intervened as the school&#8217;s valedictorian went off-script during the graduation ceremony’s welcome speech on May 28.
High schooler Leen Hijaz, a Muslim student from Johnston County, North Carolina, abandoned her pre-approved speech and instead ranted about ICE and voiced her support for Palestine. 
“Before I leave the stage, I have one last thing to say. Every single person here has a voice, and we are privileged to have the freedom to use it when so many people around the world are struggling and suffering to be heard,” Hijaz said. 
“Whether it’s the millions suffering in Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Afghanistan and so many other countries around the world, or the families being torn apart by ICE. These are not distant issues,” Hijaz said. “They are happening right now as I speak.”

“My point is, we’re not given a voice to stay silent,” Hijaz said to cheers from some people in the crowd. The video also shows other graduates behind her look at each other in confusion as they realized Hijaz was going off-script. The school’s principal, Melissa Hubbard, then rushed onto the stage and stopped her from continuing her impromptu political speech. 
A day after the graduation, Hijaz took to <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@leenhijaz_/video/7645327665137798414?_r=1&amp;_t=ZT-96lijkzSKQ1">TikTok</a> complaining about her diploma being withheld and her experience as a Muslim-Arab in Johnston County, North Carolina. 
“If I submitted [the speech] to the school they would have disapproved it immediately because of how racist they are,” Hijaz said. “I really think if you think I did something wrong then there’s something wrong with you.” 
Johnston County Public Schools confirmed that Hijaz has been awarded her diploma. 
&#8220;School administrators intervened in order to maintain the integrity and focus of the program in real time,” school leadership <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2026/06/02/valedictorian-graduation-speech-interrupted-clayton-north-carolina/90370678007/">said</a> in a statement to USA TODAY. “This action was not about limiting a student’s voice, but about ensuring that a school-sponsored event remained consistent with its intended purpose.&#8221;
